Welcome

What if you could shift from autopilot to intentionality? From cruise-control to aliveness?

Ellie Mason is a developmental coach and leadership development facilitator, supporting you to make sense of your sense making. To build cognitive capacity, unlock capability, and unleash your potential.

The Magic

Put simply, my purpose is to facilitate (or hold space for) people to get out of their own way. To unwind back to their true self.

My approach is informed by Robert Kegan’s Subject-Object Theory of Development, Ken Wilber’s Integral Theory and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (both trained via The Coaching Room) amalgamated with a stack of other learning and experience over my twenty-year career.

My ‘roman empire’ is thinking about how easily we walk through life without being truly conscious of why we do what we do. With distraction and busy-ness culture in full swing, I believe – now more than ever – we need to pause and reflect on what we feel, think, say, and do. Then to be intentional about how we’re show up in the world and for those around us.

If any of this strikes a chord with you, let’s connect and explore the possibilities.

Solutions

Developmental Coaching

What might change in your life if you were to invest in yourself? If you were to build your cognitive capacity and unleashed your potential!

In a world where everything is being automated, it’s time to shift from autopilot to consciousness.

You know when you drive somewhere you’ve been a hundred times before and you zone out? Surprised when you arrive having no real awareness of the journey? How much of your life is like that? On autopilot/cruise-control/zoned out?

Wouldn’t you rather be aware/awake/alive?

What would it be like if you were paying attention to what you feel/think/say/do?

Imagine what might be possible if you were aware and intentional about making decisions, rather than living out a series of reflexive, habitual patterns.

Grounded in the practises of Integral Theory, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and vertical development, these coaching sessions engage and explore awareness and intentionality. You’ll bring curiosity back online and give self-judgment a well earnt rest. You’ll spark new ideas and perspectives and finally make sense of your sense making.

Leadership Coaching

What if it’s not about gaining more knowledge? What if you were to unlock the resources and information already within you?

As leaders we’re often striving for answers. So, we look for never ending knowledge / expertise / know-how. What we really need to do is close the knowing-doing gap.

Our sense-making often gets in the way of engaging the skills and capabilities we’re learning. We understand the theory but for some reason we’re not putting it into practise. That’s where building cognitive capacity comes in. It enables capability. It closes the knowing-doing gap, resulting in higher performance.

Expanding your cognitive capacity:
🌟 Untangles your sense-making.
🌟 Increases your ability to hold multiple perspectives at once.
🌟 Increases self-awareness and emotional and relational intelligence.
🌟 Enables mindset mastery.

What might be possible if your leaders got out of their own way?

Fictional Character Development

What might be possible if you had a character development ‘handbook’ to better understand the people in your stories?

Whether you’re penning the next great novel, scripting a screenplay, or crafting a short story, your characters make or break your tale. Bring your characters to life with easy-to-use tools and engaging coaching conversations.

What you’ll walk away with:
🌟 Confidence: Know your nuanced characters inside and out.
🌟 Depth: Layered characters with motivations that resonate.
🌟 Engagement: Keep readers flipping pages to see what your characters do next.
🌟 Clarity: A clear roadmap for your characters’ arcs—no more second-guessing!

Knowledge ≠ Ability

For three quarters of my life I focused on filling my knowledge bucket up. With more and more facts, data, and information. More certifications, accreditations, and qualifications. Desperate for the validation ‘knowing’ would give me. Sure, each bite of knowledge gave me a dopamine hit. Addicted I was to fill my brain with information. Because …

Are we oversimplifying work?

Challenging the skills-based management paradigm Since listening to Gareth Flynn’s insightful conversation with Dart Lindsley on the Work For Humans podcast, I’ve been reflecting on ‘skills’ and the idea that employees are not simply an inventory of skills. Yes, there needs to be strategic alignment between systems, tasks and skills. But it’s also a leader’s …
